Because I Said So

"Mom, watch ME!"

"Watch THIS, MOM~!" "Look what I can do, MOM!" "Mom , I can flip my eyelids inside out, watch!"

I have been watching my 3 children do amazing things for 11 years. Among the amazing things I have seen ( and/or heard/learned):

Green peas up the baby's nose, put there by a brother, usually come out when said baby sneezes, without medical intervention, but not always.

Various special body parts can be taught tricks such as"stand at attention." This one remains a favorite among my sons.

Pitching in the major leagues is an actual, attainable , perfectly reasonable goal to have. Just ask my 11 year old.

The simple amazing act of 'watch me read this mom"- this one gets me every time... especially the first time they really DO it.

"Look what the baby can do!" ( This one tends to strike terror in the hearts of men, namely their father). we always know that when an older brother says that, there are circus acrobats involved, and there will be blood, probably.

Washable magic markers make good eyeliner. It really doesn't wash off all that easily.

The best time for a hug is when you really don't think you need one.

Mommy's nightgown makes a good substitute blankie when yours is in the wash. My angelbaby daughter taught me that one.

Mashers really DO make great fingerpaint..

"But Mom, Caden KNOWS how to climb up the high part of the playset, just watch him do it all by himself!" ( I think this one goes without needing any further comment.)

"Look how BIG I grew last night, Mommy!" (sigh) Bittersweet.

"Mom watch this!" - no matter how many times I hear that, -- I always turn to look. I always learn something that way.
